Pear Shaped Miracle

Seven years ago my wife my wife made a delicious salad on it were sliced light green strips. I ate the salad and was mesmerized by the creamy taste of the light green strip. It was on this day that I tasted Avocados for the first time. Since then we’ve had so many dishes with avocado in it including egg rolls and French fries. Avocado tastes good, but is this food too good to be true?

I conducted some research and after doing so believe that Avocado is a hidden treasure. This Pear shaped fruit has tons of positives that benefit all age groups. Below I will highlight seven benefits

These benefits include;

  • Heart Health: Avocado contains vitamin E, vitamin B6, folic acid glutathione and monounsaturated fat. All of these help in maintaining a healthy heart. Heart Disease is considered a leading cause of death so this is a big benefit.
  • Lower Blood Pressure Level: Avocados are a great source of potassium. This helps in controlling blood pressure levels.
  • Eye Health: Avocado is an excellent source of carotenoid lutein. This has been known to help protect against eye conditions such as cataracts.
  • Cancer Protection: The oleic acid in avocado has been effective in preventing breast cancer. Avocado has also been shown to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer.
  • Lower Risks of Stroke: Avocados have high levels of folate. Foods rich in folate have been proven to lower the risks of strokes.
  • Bad Breath Reduction: Avocados help clean the intestine, which is a major cause of bad breath. Avocados could be seen as a natural mouthwash.
  • Anti-Aging Benefits: Avocados are rich in antioxidants and glutathione. These help in preventing aging symptoms. They’ve also been shown to boost the immune system, slow the aging process and encourage a healthy nervous system.

The Avocado is a versatile non boring food. There are lots of recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes that will keep your appetite wet for more avocado by simply doing a Google search. There is an old phrase that says “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Perhaps the new phrase should say “An avocado keeps the doctor away.” Enjoy your avocado, because it is indeed a pear shaped miracle.
