Neil Armstrong

Neil was born on August 5th, 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Neil was educated at the University of Southern California, Purdue University, and Blume High School. Neil was an astronaut that worked over at NASA. In his life he faced many obstacles. He had a daughter Karen died at the age of three in 1962, as a kid it was hard to get an education with his dad always moving with his job, and had earn money for flight school so Neil could later live on to be an astronaut. There are also many important events in Neil life. This includes starting flight school at the age of 15, later entering the Korean War to fight for the country he loves, Joining NASA space, which helped him, be able to go on a couple missions.

He is also best known for being the first man on the moon in 1969. His life also includes many accomplishments that I am very proud of. Some of his great accomplishments include earning a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering from Purdue in 1955. In addition, he married Janet Shearon who I met in college. He also proudly became America’s first nonmilitary astronaut in 1962. Finally one of my most recent accomplishments in 2005 is having a biography written about him. He have also received many awards including Robert H. Goddard Trophy, congressional Space Medal of Honor, and earned the congressional gold Medal of Honor.

I am very proud of his work and lived a great life. The great thing is that even though he is gone, you can go over to the Kennedy Space center and learn about Neil where his life will live on forever.
