Lake Georgetown in Georgetown, Texas

Lake Georgetown is located just west of Geogetown, Texas. I went to the portion which is described as the north fork of the San Gabriel River off Overlook Drive – all of it being part of the Brazos River system.

The lake, dam and all surrounding property is maintained the Fort Worth District of the United States Army Corp of Engineers. Not only is the whole expanse of Lake Georgetown a popular recreational area with camping areas and over 24 miles of biking and hiking trails, but it is also a source of drinking water for both Georgetown and the neighboring city of Round Rock.

Lake Georgetown is a fun place to spend the day or just the afternoon. You can walk on the many miles of trails, camp in it's many campgrounds, take the boat out for a spin or just go for a swim. Either way, you and your family will have a great time at the lake.
