Blockchain based Crypto-Currencies
Ever wondered what other crypto-currencies there are out there like bitcoin? Well I compiled a list of most of the ones I could find and gave a little information on each crypto-currency and what makes it different from others. I have also given links to where you can download the clients and get more information on the coin. Most of these I have been able to build and mine on, however it should be noted that most i have built from source wherever possible on a Linux Ubuntu 12.04 OS, but a number have got windows installs as well but be careful don't try on computers where you have any unlocked wallets with coins in them as I'd hate you to loose your coins!!

blocks every 2 minutes, 42 million coins will be available, difficulty adjustment every 30 blocks (difficulty adjustment based on hashrate from last 720 blocks), double-SHA-256 hashing algorithm, block reward is 20 coins.

EXTRA 4.89% anual demurrage, 80% block subsidy goes to foundation for the first 3 years (about 500 coins for each of first 161280 blocks, total 80m).

- CDC Cloudcoin - Scrypt POW/POS. 100 million total coins, designed to be the “coin of the cloud”
- CGB Cryptogenic Bullion - scarce coin, only one million will every be made. Scrypt based, GPU mineable but ASIC resistant
- Note: CGB is transitioning over to the not-new section as it is adopted by many and on multiple exchanges
- GRW Growthcoin - Scrypt hashing with interest feature
- CRC Craftcoin - Scrypt hashing, designed to be a coin for minecraft. Server plugin has not been developed so now it is pretty much just another coin. Interesting concept though.
- STR Star Coin - Scrypt algorithm but with random block rewards based off of Luckycoin
