Snickerdoodles Recipe

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup shortening or margarine
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbs sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  1. Blend the eggs, sugar, and shortening together.
  2. Sift the flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda together. Sifting is not absolutely necessary, but the ingredients must be thoroughly blended.
  3. Combine the two and mix well.
  4. Chill the dough for an hour or so.
  5. Mix the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
  6. Shape the dough into 2 inch balls and lightly coat each with the cinnamon mixture.
  7. Place on a cookie and bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes

Makes 4 dozen cookies.
