DEVTOME.COM HOSTING COSTS HAVE BEGUN TO EXCEED 115$ MONTHLY. THE ADMINISTRATION IS NO LONGER ABLE TO HANDLE THE COST WITHOUT ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE RISING COST. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST A YEAR, BUT WE HAVE BEEN HANDLING IT FROM OUR OWN POCKETS. HOWEVER, WITH LITERALLY NO DONATIONS FOR THE PAST 2+ YEARS IT HAS DEPLETED THE BUDGET IN SHORT ORDER WITH THE INCREASE IN ACTIVITY ON THE SITE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. OUR CPU USAGE HAS BECOME TOO HIGH TO REMAIN ON A REASONABLE COSTING PLAN THAT WE COULD MAINTAIN. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THE DEVTOME PROJECT AND KEEP THE SITE UP/ALIVE PLEASE DONATE (EVEN IF ITS A SATOSHI) TO OUR DEVCOIN 1M4PCuMXvpWX6LHPkBEf3LJ2z1boZv4EQa OR OUR BTC WALLET 16eqEcqfw4zHUh2znvMcmRzGVwCn7CJLxR TO ALLOW US TO AFFORD THE HOSTING.

THE DEVCOIN AND DEVTOME PROJECTS ARE BOTH VERY IMPORTANT TO THE COMMUNITY. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO ITS FURTHER SUCCESS FOR ANOTHER 5 OR MORE YEARS!

Over the past few weeks I have run many Instant Adventures and although their rewards aren't so great, I have been finding them to be a lot of fun. Read on for a re-review of these, as well as my opinions.

When I did my first Rift Instant Adventures review, the number of players doing the Instant Adventures was pretty small; there were many times where I would end up in a group by myself or just a couple others. As of lately, the groups have gotten larger and in many cases I have ended up in full or nearly full raids (keep in mind that your server population will play a huge role in this). As a result, I have found that they are not quite like I had experienced in the past.

Difficulty

The difficulty of the Instant Adventures does scale with the number of players taking part. With a small group, for example, the mobs are quick and easy to kill. As you get more players, they become more difficult (but at the same time, there are more players so it keeps about balanced). With a full raid it is very easy to get overpowered if players do not work together.

The one thing that doesn't scale is the mob levels. Whether there is one person or an entire raid, you can end up against level 45 mobs or level 50's. This makes some Instant Adventures feel quite underpowered even when you do have a larger group. I still hold my view that these should all be level 50+.

Rewards

The rewards still are not that great, regardless of how many players there are. The only ones that really get boosted are those from the invasions (“Defend Wardstone” goals), and that is just because many more invasions are killed. Other than this, the rewards don't take on any form of scaling, which leaves them a bit weak. Furthermore, RNG (Random Number Generation) seems to play a major role in what you do get, which detracts from the rewarding feeling even more.

Speed

Probably the best part of these is how quick they are. Even if you only have 20 minutes (or less) you can jump right in and start playing. After each round rewards are given, so whether you stay for just one round or for the entire Instant Adventure, you can win stuff. Some of these will last only a short period (10 minutes) and others can be longer (20-30). But since you can jump right in at any point and hop from one adventure to another, there's always something to do!

I do still feel that there are some improvements that can be made to Rift Instant Adventures (as seen above), but as it is, it is already a very viable source of fun for casual players or others who just need to pass up a little bit of time. With any luck, Trion will enhance these over time with new features and other benefits!
