Some game bugs are worse than others, as each one affects us differently. One that I have run into countless times (before I took a break from Rift) was falling through Library of the Runemasters. This was happening every few matches, and I ran into the same bug again today. Luckily, I think I have also found a sort of “fix,” so to speak, for this problem.

As far as I can tell, the bug is caused by being too close to a wall and “clipping” through it. For those of you who have played various FPS games in the past, you may already be familiar with this term. Essentially what it means is being able to walk through a wall or other object by somehow bypassing the collision. In the case of Library of the Runemasters, this causes a fall through to the bottom of the map (and, of course, death along the way). While not a huge problem on its own, it can be one if you are holding a vessel or are in the middle of a fight. It can easily sway you from being able to help your team and having to take a time out for a bit (while you wait for the fall to complete, respawn, get back to where you were, etc.).

At this point you are probably already understanding what the trick seems to be: stay away from the walls. But furthermore, I think it goes a bit deeper than this. If you go up between two corners of a wall, you can usually see through to the other side. It is hard to tell which ones are vulnerable to the bug, but getting wedged into one of those corners and then being knocked back is likely the culprit for this bug. As such, you should try to avoid corners when possible. The wall itself does not seem to be too much of a problem, but if you really want to protect yourself you can avoid the walls as a whole as well.

I'll be updating this article if I come up with any other resolutions for this, but for now suffice it to say that avoiding the walls in Library of the Runemasters is probably a good idea!
