DEVTOME.COM HOSTING COSTS HAVE BEGUN TO EXCEED 115$ MONTHLY. THE ADMINISTRATION IS NO LONGER ABLE TO HANDLE THE COST WITHOUT ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE RISING COST. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST A YEAR, BUT WE HAVE BEEN HANDLING IT FROM OUR OWN POCKETS. HOWEVER, WITH LITERALLY NO DONATIONS FOR THE PAST 2+ YEARS IT HAS DEPLETED THE BUDGET IN SHORT ORDER WITH THE INCREASE IN ACTIVITY ON THE SITE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. OUR CPU USAGE HAS BECOME TOO HIGH TO REMAIN ON A REASONABLE COSTING PLAN THAT WE COULD MAINTAIN. Promote Womanhood In The Way Our Lord Has Created Woman To Be – Part 2

Jesus Attitude toward Women

During Jesus' time, women were similarly treated as second-class persons. Yet, Jesus went radically against the tide by treating women with the same worth and dignity as men. And even among women who were labeled by society as outcasts - the sick, the Gentiles, the sinners, He showed no bias. Rather, Jesus was a champion of women, especially the oppressed. He truly empowered women by freeing them from the shackles of injustice and unfair prejudice.

There are many instances in the Bible when Jesus treated women with love, compassion, dignity and respect: Jesus healed the woman who had been suffering from hemorrhage for twelve years. Jesus defended the penitent woman sinner who washed His feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair (Luke 7:36-50). Jesus spoke with a Samaritan woman divorcee who was fetching water at Jacob's well (John 4:7-24). (From the religious point of view at that time, Samaritans were considered almost as Gentiles.) Jesus did not condemn the woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-11). Jesus had women followers and friends (Luke 8:1-3, Mark 16:40-41 , Luke 10:38-39).

Jesus loved and respected women as children of God. He didn't discriminate against the people who came to Him, whether man or woman, outcast of society or not. We have all been empowered by Jesus' death and resurrection to follow His example. Yet, in the way we live our lives today, and in the way we treat each other, this power seems to be sorely missing.

True Solutions

With the real oppression of women today and the proliferation of the radical feminists' ideology, we clearly see a need for true empowerment of women. That is women are asked to rise and form a new feminism that will protect women in the ways of the Lord, in the role of women as designed by Him. There is now a need for women to be reminded about their feminine genius - their unique nature created by God, and to use this also in accordance with God's plan.

By nature, a woman naturally possesses a distinct feminine genius which is characterized by her great capacity to serve, nurture and protect life, her attention to details, her receptivity and flexibility, her ability to see the whole and the personal - all of which make great interpersonal skills and enable a woman to humanize her environment. A woman is best empowered to serve others in whatever line of work she chooses to be in by developing her unique feminine potentials distinctly different from man's. These should all be in the service of the family, the Church and society.

True empowerment of women is possible only if society upholds the dignity of both men and women and respects human life.

First, society must accept that men and women are equal in worth and dignity, and are thus equally deserving of love and respect as human beings. Equality is not about doing equal work but about being given equal opportunities, and fully using one's abilities accordingly. Moreover, we should realize and accept that human rights are not something granted by government, but are inalienable to every person.

Second, society must also recognize that men and women have natural differences that complement each other. Men tend to be more concerned with ideas and objects, and women are more person-oriented. Hence, where man provides the structure for development, a woman's affective and intuitive nature can provide the flesh of humanizing development. Women cannot achieve this goal alone. Neither can men do this work alone. Men and women have to work together for it.

This complementary and interdependent relationship also characterizes man and woman in marriage, and sets specific roles for them – the wife as helpmate and the husband as head of the family. As helpmate, the wife is to be the companion, partner and support of her husband. As head, the husband is to be the provider, protector, priest and governor. The role of the husband is Jesus' call for man to love his wife as He loved His Church. In God's plan, there is no women oppression even in marriage.

Third, society must understand that empowerment is not about wielding power in order to suppress another. All forms of violence are wrong and human life ought to be respected at all times. And this includes the life of the unborn child inside a mother's womb.

Women should unleash their unique feminine genius in defense of the sanctity of human life, as well as of authentic womanhood, motherhood, family and marriage.

Conclusion

Violence and injustice to women are but part of the oppression that mankind has to be liberated from. Oppression comes in many forms and victimizes not just women, but children and men as well. This article is about the empowerment of women in response to the call to form a new feminism that will protect, nurture and promote womanhood in the way our Lord has created woman to be.

But the bigger picture is that there is a God who addresses all forms of oppression and who is concerned not just with the oppressed but also with the oppressors. He wants to bring every man and every woman to Himself in a personal relationship where we will all experience the fullness of His love and blessings upon all of us.
