DEVTOME.COM HOSTING COSTS HAVE BEGUN TO EXCEED 115$ MONTHLY. THE ADMINISTRATION IS NO LONGER ABLE TO HANDLE THE COST WITHOUT ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE RISING COST. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST A YEAR, BUT WE HAVE BEEN HANDLING IT FROM OUR OWN POCKETS. HOWEVER, WITH LITERALLY NO DONATIONS FOR THE PAST 2+ YEARS IT HAS DEPLETED THE BUDGET IN SHORT ORDER WITH THE INCREASE IN ACTIVITY ON THE SITE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. OUR CPU USAGE HAS BECOME TOO HIGH TO REMAIN ON A REASONABLE COSTING PLAN THAT WE COULD MAINTAIN. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THE DEVTOME PROJECT AND KEEP THE SITE UP/ALIVE PLEASE DONATE (EVEN IF ITS A SATOSHI) TO OUR DEVCOIN 1M4PCuMXvpWX6LHPkBEf3LJ2z1boZv4EQa OR OUR BTC WALLET 16eqEcqfw4zHUh2znvMcmRzGVwCn7CJLxR TO ALLOW US TO AFFORD THE HOSTING.

THE DEVCOIN AND DEVTOME PROJECTS ARE BOTH VERY IMPORTANT TO THE COMMUNITY. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO ITS FURTHER SUCCESS FOR ANOTHER 5 OR MORE YEARS!

Pokemon Snap

Pokemon Snap is a first-person on-rails photography simulation game where you play as Todd, a Pokemon photographer. You have to take pictures of as many Pokemon as possible for Professor Oak. It was released on September 15, 2000 for the Nintendo 64, and has since been re-released on the Wii's virtual console.

Gameplay

You are Todd, an amateur Pokemon photographer who has been ordered to take pictures on Pokemon Island of Pokemon by Professor Oak. You own a cart (the ZERO-ONE) and go on a fixed rail, where you can look around and take pictures of all kinds of Pokemon. Whenever you are done with the track, you will return to the Pokemon Lab and Professor Oak will rate your picture. The better your picture, the more points you earn. You will also get extra points if the Pokemon is in the middle of the screen, performs a special attack, etc.

You will start of with one track, which has a few Pokemon on it, and after you earn enough points you unlock new tracks. If you gain a certain amount of points, you will also earn other unlocks like apple-shaped Pokemon food (to lure Pokemon), or pester balls, to find hidden Pokemon, and eventually a Poke Flute. These items can be used to find Pokemon you normally can't find, or even evolve Pokemon on the track. There are seven tracks, from which one is a special track which only features Mew. Some tracks require you to do special things to unlock it.

When you've taken a picture of a Pokemon for the second (or more) time, Oak will compare the two pictures and you will keep the one with the highest score.

Dinkleberg's experience

This has to be one of my all-time favorite games. It is absolutely amazing. The concept is great, and it is executed very, very well! It is so much fun to figure out how to get a Pokemon to evolve, or how to unlock the next stage. This doesn't mean that it is only fun the first playthrough, you obviously want to have the best photo's, so you keep trying to improve your photo's!

I really hope they make a sequel to this game. It fits perfectly on both the Nintendo 3DS and the WiiU. I would honestly buy a WiiU just to play Pokemon Snap 2. If they decide to make the sequel, there are a couple of things they have to improve. First of all, there should be more Pokemon. Right now there are 63 Pokemon, there should be way more! Second of all, it would be great if you could improve your camera. Buy new lenses, new kits, etc. And of course, you should be able to walk around freely!

This game is a must-play!
