DEVTOME.COM HOSTING COSTS HAVE BEGUN TO EXCEED 115$ MONTHLY. THE ADMINISTRATION IS NO LONGER ABLE TO HANDLE THE COST WITHOUT ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE RISING COST. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST A YEAR, BUT WE HAVE BEEN HANDLING IT FROM OUR OWN POCKETS. HOWEVER, WITH LITERALLY NO DONATIONS FOR THE PAST 2+ YEARS IT HAS DEPLETED THE BUDGET IN SHORT ORDER WITH THE INCREASE IN ACTIVITY ON THE SITE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. OUR CPU USAGE HAS BECOME TOO HIGH TO REMAIN ON A REASONABLE COSTING PLAN THAT WE COULD MAINTAIN. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THE DEVTOME PROJECT AND KEEP THE SITE UP/ALIVE PLEASE DONATE (EVEN IF ITS A SATOSHI) TO OUR DEVCOIN 1M4PCuMXvpWX6LHPkBEf3LJ2z1boZv4EQa OR OUR BTC WALLET 16eqEcqfw4zHUh2znvMcmRzGVwCn7CJLxR TO ALLOW US TO AFFORD THE HOSTING.

THE DEVCOIN AND DEVTOME PROJECTS ARE BOTH VERY IMPORTANT TO THE COMMUNITY. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO ITS FURTHER SUCCESS FOR ANOTHER 5 OR MORE YEARS!

Philadelphia 76ers 2014 Dream First Round

The 2014 NBA Draft has been broadcast as one of the deepest drafts in years. Tons of quality players were supposedly drafted. The Philadelphia 76ers had the third and tenth picks in the draft. In a deep draft those picks should yield dividends that the team and fans should begin to see sooner rather than later. Will that be the case? Let’s look at their two picks below;

  • Third Pick: The 76ers with this pick chose Joel Embiid. He’s a seven foot center out of the University of Kansas. Some say that he has the most star potential of anyone in the draft and could be another Patrick Ewing type player. Unfortunately he is currently nursing an injured foot. He had surgery on this foot last week and will miss 4 – 6 months. This same injury was suffered by Bill Walton and Yao Ming. He also had a back injury at Kansas this year that kept him out of the NCAA tournament. The 76ers decided to take a risk on Embiid’s star potential. A frontcourt of Joel Embiid and last year’s top pick Nerlens Noel could be dominant for years to come. The question is, Can they remain healthy to realize this dominant potential?
  • Tenth Pick: The 76ers with this pick chose guard Elfrid Payton out of Louisiana-Lafayette University. He was later traded to the Orlando Magic for Power Forward Dario Saric out of Croatia and more draft picks including a 2017 first round pick. Saric is a skilled big man and has been compared to Hedo Turkoglu. He recently signed a three year deal with his team in Turkey. So he will remain in Turkey for two more years. Some question whether he’ll ever come to play in the NBA. After the draft Saric said he will indeed come here to play. Saric could become a solid player when he arrives in the NBA.

With these two first round picks, the Nerlens Noel pick of last year and current star Thaddeus Young the Philadelphia 76ers have potentially solidified their front court for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately only half of it or at most seventy-five percent of it will be realized this year and next season. There are still holes on the roster. Perhaps free agency or some of the second round draft picks will yield some results. It looks like the Philadelphia 76ers are making plans to participate in the 2015 NBA Draft lottery. It is always good to look ahead to the future, but suppose things don’t work out for these players and one or all of them are busts. You are back to square one. The team isn’t lowering ticket costs, because of the current lack of quality on the court so fans will have to be patient. Of course the Philadelphia 76ers could have hit a home run with their first round picks. We won’t know if this is the case for a little while longer. That’s what makes the NBA Draft so much fun to watch. Sit back relax and see how much better the Philadelphia 76ers are.
