DEVTOME.COM HOSTING COSTS HAVE BEGUN TO EXCEED 115$ MONTHLY. THE ADMINISTRATION IS NO LONGER ABLE TO HANDLE THE COST WITHOUT ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE RISING COST. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST A YEAR, BUT WE HAVE BEEN HANDLING IT FROM OUR OWN POCKETS. HOWEVER, WITH LITERALLY NO DONATIONS FOR THE PAST 2+ YEARS IT HAS DEPLETED THE BUDGET IN SHORT ORDER WITH THE INCREASE IN ACTIVITY ON THE SITE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. OUR CPU USAGE HAS BECOME TOO HIGH TO REMAIN ON A REASONABLE COSTING PLAN THAT WE COULD MAINTAIN. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THE DEVTOME PROJECT AND KEEP THE SITE UP/ALIVE PLEASE DONATE (EVEN IF ITS A SATOSHI) TO OUR DEVCOIN 1M4PCuMXvpWX6LHPkBEf3LJ2z1boZv4EQa OR OUR BTC WALLET 16eqEcqfw4zHUh2znvMcmRzGVwCn7CJLxR TO ALLOW US TO AFFORD THE HOSTING.

THE DEVCOIN AND DEVTOME PROJECTS ARE BOTH VERY IMPORTANT TO THE COMMUNITY. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO ITS FURTHER SUCCESS FOR ANOTHER 5 OR MORE YEARS!

Offering To The Community

Del Monte employees and their families celebrate the year with so much to thank for. Throughout the Plantation in Bukidnon, Cannery and Corporate Headquarters in Bugo and at our Marketing and Administrative offices in Makati, a sense of unity lends added color to the celebration.

Across the plantation, various sport competitions ushered in many of the activities at Camps Phillips, JMC, Fabia, LFLorenzo and 14. Families have the chance to enjoy and compete in the carrolling, light-a-tree or light-ahouse, lantern, Christmas yell, battle-of-the-bands, dance sports contests and variety shows. Camp Administrators Eugene Gerong, Grace Maigue, Jun Japos, Angel Occena and Carmen Bajao have spearheaded preparations for their respective camps.

For these camps, get-togethers highlight activities for the Season. Joining activities scheduled for this day are employees, their families and other camp residents. Plantation supervisors, managers and senior executives led by Plantation operations vice president Marco Lorenzo get together in Camp Phillips. In Makati, employees join DMPI President Alex Castillo and the senior management team for a lunch.

In Bugo, teams at the Corporate Headquarters and the Cannery have scheduled parties for their respective departments. Cannery vice president Bert Mabilangan, Corp. Affairs vice president Jimmy Ong and Finance vice president Domeng Capistrano join work teams in these get-togethers. Following tradition, the Bugo Offices Employees Association (BOEA) led by president Boy Obar hold its annual party at the Bugo Beach house.

Leadership Refresher For Cannery Capatazes

Two-day sessions gave over 100 capatzes and leadmen at the Bugo Cannery's Pineapple Operations opportunity to refresh themselves on leadership, teamwork and quality standards. The sessions, held at Marco Hotel, included leaders at Preparation, Processing, Tropical Products, Liquids Processing and Quality Assurance departments. Factory Operations Vice Pres. Bert Mabilangan stressed to participants their important role in goal-setting and in creating an environment of growth and creativity among their respective work teams.

Lapanday Holdings Corporation through its president and CEO, Luis P. Lorenzo, Jr., won the coveted export marketing category of this year's Agora Awards. Lapanday's strong belief in its product quality and integrity has propelled it to strategically transform itself - from being a local grower for multinational companies to a direct exporter. Lapanday, a business partner of Del Monte Philippines, grows bananas in Mindanao and employs over 7,000 workers. The Agora Awards, sponsored annually by the Phil. Marketing Association, honors outstanding individual and corporate achievers in various fields of marketing management. Mr. Lorenzo during the awarding ceremony is Jose Jesus Roces, PMA president and Agora Awards director-in-charge.

Pina pasalubong contest among Plantation families

Thinking of starting your own small home-grown “pineapple” business right at the Plantation? Someone may have just beat you to it. Plantation families wanting to have a good headstart in cooking up “pasalubong” for visiting local and foreign tourists joined the “pinaka-sweet” contest sponsored by the Plantation Integrated Supervisors Corporation. Participants submitted entries for the brightest, most unique pasalubong, either food delicacies or hand-crafted gift items, “to find the best and truly genuine Plantation gift.” PISCOR announced contest winners at the Phillips Social Hall.

DM coop leader is CUP vice-chair for Mindanao. Apollo Alavanza, Bugo Cannery supervisor and officer of three Del Monte employee cooperatives, has been elected as Board vice-chair for Mindanao of the Cooperative Union of the Philippines (CUP), the umbrella organization among cooperatives in the country. Pol's extensive exposure to Mindanao's rural cooperatives would be highly valued by the CUP leadership in areas of policy formulation and growth directions. He also serves as Board vice-chair of the Del Monte Employees Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (DEARBC), a pioneer coop among the country's corporate farmers organized after implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law in 1988.
