DEVTOME.COM HOSTING COSTS HAVE BEGUN TO EXCEED 115$ MONTHLY. THE ADMINISTRATION IS NO LONGER ABLE TO HANDLE THE COST WITHOUT ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE RISING COST. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST A YEAR, BUT WE HAVE BEEN HANDLING IT FROM OUR OWN POCKETS. HOWEVER, WITH LITERALLY NO DONATIONS FOR THE PAST 2+ YEARS IT HAS DEPLETED THE BUDGET IN SHORT ORDER WITH THE INCREASE IN ACTIVITY ON THE SITE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. OUR CPU USAGE HAS BECOME TOO HIGH TO REMAIN ON A REASONABLE COSTING PLAN THAT WE COULD MAINTAIN. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THE DEVTOME PROJECT AND KEEP THE SITE UP/ALIVE PLEASE DONATE (EVEN IF ITS A SATOSHI) TO OUR DEVCOIN 1M4PCuMXvpWX6LHPkBEf3LJ2z1boZv4EQa OR OUR BTC WALLET 16eqEcqfw4zHUh2znvMcmRzGVwCn7CJLxR TO ALLOW US TO AFFORD THE HOSTING.

THE DEVCOIN AND DEVTOME PROJECTS ARE BOTH VERY IMPORTANT TO THE COMMUNITY. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO ITS FURTHER SUCCESS FOR ANOTHER 5 OR MORE YEARS!

My 2014 Bowman Football Card Experience

I’ve been a collector of football cards for many years. I find this to be an enjoyable hobby as I’ve been able to collect cards of some of the NFL’s top players. I target rookie cards mainly of the most hyped players. I also collect rookies of those players that are considered diamonds in the rough. From time to time I purchase cards hoping for a special find. On this particular day I decided to go by Wal-Mart and went to the sports card section of the store. When I arrived, there were some blasters, rack packs and retail packs of 2014 Bowman Football that caught my eye. Bowman rookie cards are popular. It was decision time. What should I buy? I had three options to choose from and only a certain amount of money. After some deliberation I ultimately decided to purchase regular packs and a box of chocolates for my wife. The 2014 Bowman Football retail packs contain 7 cards each. I would receive 21 total cards. I will describe my find below;

  • Pack #1: I opened the pack and found the following cards; Percy Harvin,Michael Floyd these are veteran white base cards. I also received Ryan Shazier, Johnny Manziel, Anthony Barr and Tajh Boyd rookie white base cards and last but not least I received a DeMarco Murray veteran purple card. I was pumped since I just received a Johnny football rookie card.
  • Pack#2: I opened the pack and found the following cards; Russell Wilson Jason Pierre-Paul these are veteran white base cards. I also received Rookie white base cards Kony Ealy, Anthony Johnson, Chris Smith and Sammy Watkins. Last but not least I received a Rookie Mini card Ryan Grant. I smiled a little more since I received a Sammy Watkins card. I saw him in several games and I consider him the best received in the 2014 NFL Draft.
  • Pack#3: I opened the pack and the following cards: Three more veteran base cards of Patrick Peterson, Ray Rice and Kenny Stills. I also received four more white base rookie cards Connor Shaw, Darqueze Dennard, Donte Moncrief and Kareem Martin. This wasn’t the best pack, but I did receive a Darqueze Dennard rookie card. He was drafted by my favorite team the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round and based on what I saw of him play in college believe he will be a great player.

Overall I am a little disappointed with the look of the 2014 Bowman retail football cards. The rookie cards didn’t feature players in their new uniforms. Perhaps a later release for the product would have enabled this to be the case. It would have also been nice to get an autographed card. On the bright side I did however get Johnny Manziel and Sammy Watkins rookie cards. Both of these players have the potential to have solid NFL careers. When buying retail packs of cards you usually only get base rookies and occasionally a numbered or parallel card unless specified on the packaging. I probably won’t get anymore 2014 Bowman retail football cards. I will wait till cards of the new rookies in their new uniforms are released.
