DEVTOME.COM HOSTING COSTS HAVE BEGUN TO EXCEED 115$ MONTHLY. THE ADMINISTRATION IS NO LONGER ABLE TO HANDLE THE COST WITHOUT ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE RISING COST. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST A YEAR, BUT WE HAVE BEEN HANDLING IT FROM OUR OWN POCKETS. HOWEVER, WITH LITERALLY NO DONATIONS FOR THE PAST 2+ YEARS IT HAS DEPLETED THE BUDGET IN SHORT ORDER WITH THE INCREASE IN ACTIVITY ON THE SITE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. OUR CPU USAGE HAS BECOME TOO HIGH TO REMAIN ON A REASONABLE COSTING PLAN THAT WE COULD MAINTAIN. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THE DEVTOME PROJECT AND KEEP THE SITE UP/ALIVE PLEASE DONATE (EVEN IF ITS A SATOSHI) TO OUR DEVCOIN 1M4PCuMXvpWX6LHPkBEf3LJ2z1boZv4EQa OR OUR BTC WALLET 16eqEcqfw4zHUh2znvMcmRzGVwCn7CJLxR TO ALLOW US TO AFFORD THE HOSTING.

THE DEVCOIN AND DEVTOME PROJECTS ARE BOTH VERY IMPORTANT TO THE COMMUNITY. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO ITS FURTHER SUCCESS FOR ANOTHER 5 OR MORE YEARS!

Life Changing Experiences of Christians – Part 2

My Checks Bounced 15 Times

In 1991, our profitable business turned for the worse. Many of our customers' checks bounced. The checks we issued to our suppliers began to bounce as well. The financial difficulties of the times made it almost impossible for our customers to make good on the checks they issued us. We had our backs against the wall.

I started having sleepless nights. There was even a night I decided to end my life. But the Lord woke up my wife Malou before I could do it. She calmed me down by counting our blessings instead.

We sold properties we kept for a long time. Yet even these were not enough to settle our bouncing checks. We were charged with 15 counts of BP 22 (Bouncing check Law). To post our bail I needed P15,000. This I found very hard to raise. My relatives however got together and raised the amount for my bail, along with a promise of their prayers.

God listened to their prayers. A week after I posted bail, a law was passed raising the bail from P1,000 per check to P8,000 per check.

Next came the court hearings. It was a humbling experience to say the least. In every session, we asked our children to pray so hard for us; our CFC brothers and sisters too formed their own prayer brigade.

The hearings lasted for more than a year. But this did not stop me however from serving in CFC. One day I was invited to give a talk in Fairview, Quezon City. Coming from the other side of town (Las Pinas) and with the traffic ahead, I tried to escape the talk by finding a substitute to do it. But God's will had to happen, I couldn't find one so I gave the talk just the same.

Guess who was in attendance during the talk? The father of one of our CFC sisters. He was our opponent's lawyer. With his help a compromise settlement was reached out of court. I was asked to pay in installment the amount I owed.

This installment meant half of my take home pay. I still struggled up to this time with expenses for my children's school needs. But even in this difficulty, CFC brothers and sisters, friends and relatives supported me.

Unexpected blessings still keep pouring. These come not only materially, but in other forms like joy in having a supportive family, being in the pink of health, protection from harm and the love of brothers and sisters in CFC. I can't help but quote the song MAGNIFICAT”… He feeds the hungry with good things and helps those who serve Him..”

So let us continue to serve God in all circumstances. By Manny Picana

I Saw Him Die

Three years ago we joined Couples for Christ. We were a young couple then. We were happy serving the Lord through the music ministry where I play the guitar. Music gives us joy in our hearts, because we know that in singing and dancing to Him, our Lord is pleased. This is our way of thanking God for giving us a nearly perfect family. My husband and I enjoy each other's company. We are best friends and together with our only child we could deal with life's sadness and difficulties.

I got the shock of my life when my husband died at the age of 28. He was electrocuted by a high tension wire. All 13,000 volts entered his body. I saw him die.

I was overcome with grief. I asking God why. At this time! Why this early?

The Lord answered my question with a verse from Ecclesiastes “There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die.”

Who am I to question God on His will for my husband? Now I am glad to belong to the Handmaids of the Lord where I can continue to serve God even if I'm alone. By Madie Gregorio.
