DEVTOME.COM HOSTING COSTS HAVE BEGUN TO EXCEED 115$ MONTHLY. THE ADMINISTRATION IS NO LONGER ABLE TO HANDLE THE COST WITHOUT ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE RISING COST. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST A YEAR, BUT WE HAVE BEEN HANDLING IT FROM OUR OWN POCKETS. HOWEVER, WITH LITERALLY NO DONATIONS FOR THE PAST 2+ YEARS IT HAS DEPLETED THE BUDGET IN SHORT ORDER WITH THE INCREASE IN ACTIVITY ON THE SITE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. OUR CPU USAGE HAS BECOME TOO HIGH TO REMAIN ON A REASONABLE COSTING PLAN THAT WE COULD MAINTAIN. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THE DEVTOME PROJECT AND KEEP THE SITE UP/ALIVE PLEASE DONATE (EVEN IF ITS A SATOSHI) TO OUR DEVCOIN 1M4PCuMXvpWX6LHPkBEf3LJ2z1boZv4EQa OR OUR BTC WALLET 16eqEcqfw4zHUh2znvMcmRzGVwCn7CJLxR TO ALLOW US TO AFFORD THE HOSTING.

THE DEVCOIN AND DEVTOME PROJECTS ARE BOTH VERY IMPORTANT TO THE COMMUNITY. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO ITS FURTHER SUCCESS FOR ANOTHER 5 OR MORE YEARS!

Facts, Facts, Facts – What about logic?

In one of my previous writings, I was criticizing the government and it's role in society. It turns out that many people have given my writing a bad review, stating that „no sources“ were named and that it was „one sided“. They've obviously missed the topic in my opinion. Of course critical thinking is important and necessary to find out the truth, but disregarding everything that has „no proof“ to back it up is just wrong.

Critical thinking

The point is: If you constantly ask for facts or sources (I'm not asking you to ignore them of course), you become one of those people who “won't leave their houses” without knowing the sources/facts. In this case you forget to think critically, because you are always completely dependent on them. Critical thinking means thinking for yourself and completely independent from preconceptions. So if you need facts/sources to even start thinking about something, then you are keeping the truth away from yourself by disregarding it before even analyzing it.

Facts/sources are not always there when you need them

Everyone knows them: conspiracy theories. They are just (not always) possible scenarios which can't be proven (yet). Don't get me wrong, I'm by no means a supporter of those theories, but some of them (the proven ones) are a perfect example of critical thinking.

Let me go back to 1939 in Nazi Germany. Back then, Nazi Germany carried out a false flag attack in order to justify a war against Poland. 1) If the people back then would have asked for facts, you can be sure that they wouldn't have received them.

The one extremely wrong way of thinking and the other extremely wrong way of thinking

The kind of people that I mentioned above clearly have a false way of thinking, because always demanding facts is leading us to nowhere. Example: Science is all about theories. There are ones that can be proven and others that can be disproved. If the scientists would always ask for facts, they couldn't even work one day.

But of course there are people who are the complete opposite of those people I mentioned earlier. That would be the people who believe that everything that makes sense in the slightest way is automatically something that must be considered all the time.

Both of these ways of thinking are wrong and keep the people away from the truth.

So, what should you do?

The answer is logic. In order to find out the truth, you have to listen to what people have to say and think about how logical the statement is (without any preconceptions; just act like if they weren't there). If the statement makes sense in any way, compare it with what you already know (or believe to know) about the topic and use your own arguments against the arguments mentioned by the other person. Another thing you can do is reduce the statement to it's core, which makes the analysis easier. And at the end of your logical analysis, you will have the answer if you want to believe what you just heard/read or not.

And remember:

History tells us that people with great ideas have often been laughed at. Which didn't mean that they were wrong or stupid. It just means that the people of that time couldn't believe it because of their narrow way of thinking.

And before I end this topic, here is a pyramid, which shows the different types of discussion. media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com_736x_75_2b_3b_752b3b1c1bffa95de02a29999c87076e.jpg
