DEVTOME.COM HOSTING COSTS HAVE BEGUN TO EXCEED 115$ MONTHLY. THE ADMINISTRATION IS NO LONGER ABLE TO HANDLE THE COST WITHOUT ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE RISING COST. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST A YEAR, BUT WE HAVE BEEN HANDLING IT FROM OUR OWN POCKETS. HOWEVER, WITH LITERALLY NO DONATIONS FOR THE PAST 2+ YEARS IT HAS DEPLETED THE BUDGET IN SHORT ORDER WITH THE INCREASE IN ACTIVITY ON THE SITE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. OUR CPU USAGE HAS BECOME TOO HIGH TO REMAIN ON A REASONABLE COSTING PLAN THAT WE COULD MAINTAIN. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THE DEVTOME PROJECT AND KEEP THE SITE UP/ALIVE PLEASE DONATE (EVEN IF ITS A SATOSHI) TO OUR DEVCOIN 1M4PCuMXvpWX6LHPkBEf3LJ2z1boZv4EQa OR OUR BTC WALLET 16eqEcqfw4zHUh2znvMcmRzGVwCn7CJLxR TO ALLOW US TO AFFORD THE HOSTING.

THE DEVCOIN AND DEVTOME PROJECTS ARE BOTH VERY IMPORTANT TO THE COMMUNITY. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO ITS FURTHER SUCCESS FOR ANOTHER 5 OR MORE YEARS!

Enlightening Values Educators

Teodora Enlightens Values Educators

About two hundred Values Education teachers from 32 public high schools in Manila attended the Teodora Basic Seminar (TBS) at the Manila Guidance Testing Center.

The seminar tackled the issues of authentic womanhood, population control, gender feminism and classroom sex education. The speakers from Teodora showed how the proponents of the “gender agenda” are attacking our core values of respect for life, human sexuality, marriage and family.

They also exhorted the teachers to be very discerning and vigilant in inculcating the right values in their students.

At the end of the seminar, the Values Ed teachers were one in affirming the urgency of the work Teodora has begun. They requested that the TBS be echoed to their co-teachers in their respective schools.

This was a very encouraging response to Teodora's advocacy, considering that the public school system is one of the major vehicles of the “gender agenda”.

Conference On Total Human Liberation

The Couples for Christ (CFC) of South Central Mindanao held an echo conference on Total Human Liberation with an environmental twist. It was an exciting event incorporating pastoral, creative, and environmental components and featured an exhibit on the Davao Gawad Kalinga projects and training on waste segregation.

The guest speakers at the conference were Frank Padilla who spoke on “Total Human Liberation”, Lachie Agana who talked about the “CFC Response - Bring Glad Tidings to the Poor”, Gerry Padilla who discussed “Women and Environment” and Fr. Ben Beltran, whose 20 years' experience in Smokey Mountain empowered him to speak authoritatively on the “Integrity of Creation”. Fr. Ben, who is well known for his passion for environmental preservation, provided the participants with an emotional experience when he asked to be prayed over by Gerry Padilla. It was a moving sight Fr. Ben kneeling in humble posture before God while Gerry and the assembly invoked God's grace and protection over him.

The SIGA and SAGIP beneficiaries of Davao CFC's work with the poor performed a dance number. lssa Cuevas and Ricky Villanueva gave a presentation on Gawad Kalinga, the concrete manifestation of CFC's commitment to bring glad tidings to the poor of South Central Mindanao through CFC Angkop.

The afternoon session was capped by a workshop on Waste Segregation right after Gerry Padilla's talk. The affair was a soft launching of the newest program by the Office on Women the WWW.Jesus.com (Women's War on Waste: Jesus' Commission).

Close to 800 leaders from Davao City and General Santos City and the provinces of Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, South Cotabato, Sarangani attended the conference. The conference ended with a lively Praisefest led by Rene Breva. CFC Davao City led by Rene and Sylvia Rieta spearheaded the preparations for the conference.

Medical and Relief Mission in Bukidnon

CFC Bukidnon conducted a medical and relief mission at a remote farm village in Quezon, Bukidnon last summer. Twenty one CFC members traveled unpaved and bumpy roads to reach the village where they were welcomed by the tribal leader. They brought with them various relief goods consisting of 100 cans of sardines, 40 kilos of rice, 216 packs of noodles and 38 bags of assorted items, including medicines.

As with any mission, the group began with worship and exhortation echoing God's command to “Go bring glad tidings to the poor”. A total of 68 patients sought consultation, were treated and given free medicines. Sixty families received relief goods. Before leaving, the mission team entertained the villagers with songs.

Medical and Surgical Mission in Oroquieta

A group composed of 5 doctors from CFC Misamis Occidental and 3 doctors from CFC Manila conducted a Medical-Surgical Mission at the Misamis Occidental Provincial Hospital in Oroquieta City. They were Doctors Boie Sescon, Nick Sitaca, Philip Sy, Saul Canet and Danilo Cortez of Misamis Occidental and Joe Yamamoto, Romy Buzon and Jun Calimag from Manila.
