DEVTOME.COM HOSTING COSTS HAVE BEGUN TO EXCEED 115$ MONTHLY. THE ADMINISTRATION IS NO LONGER ABLE TO HANDLE THE COST WITHOUT ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE RISING COST. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST A YEAR, BUT WE HAVE BEEN HANDLING IT FROM OUR OWN POCKETS. HOWEVER, WITH LITERALLY NO DONATIONS FOR THE PAST 2+ YEARS IT HAS DEPLETED THE BUDGET IN SHORT ORDER WITH THE INCREASE IN ACTIVITY ON THE SITE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. OUR CPU USAGE HAS BECOME TOO HIGH TO REMAIN ON A REASONABLE COSTING PLAN THAT WE COULD MAINTAIN. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THE DEVTOME PROJECT AND KEEP THE SITE UP/ALIVE PLEASE DONATE (EVEN IF ITS A SATOSHI) TO OUR DEVCOIN 1M4PCuMXvpWX6LHPkBEf3LJ2z1boZv4EQa OR OUR BTC WALLET 16eqEcqfw4zHUh2znvMcmRzGVwCn7CJLxR TO ALLOW US TO AFFORD THE HOSTING.

THE DEVCOIN AND DEVTOME PROJECTS ARE BOTH VERY IMPORTANT TO THE COMMUNITY. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO ITS FURTHER SUCCESS FOR ANOTHER 5 OR MORE YEARS!

Clowns For Christ

CFC stands for Clowns for Christ. CFC is like King Canute of England who went to the seashore when his ministers told him he was powerful. He wanted to test his powers by commanding the waves from landing at the shore. Nowadays with the deluge of drugs and pornography, we still dare to stop the waves. Undaunted we continue to move on, planning, strategizing, still raising up missionaries.

Clowns for Christ! They go anywhere boldly with complete belief in what they do.

But why be clowns for Christ in spite of the sham, the treachery, the broken dreams? Simple. Because we have encountered Christ.

At death and upon cremation, we'd all fit into one cup of dust. For those without faith, their ultimate destiny is a cup of dust. But we who have encountered Christ, we believe, no, in fact, we know that our measure is not dust enough to fill a small cup.

Our measure is Christ unbroken everlasting.

Christians are at it again! They want to “Bring glad tidings to the poor.”

But why bring glad tidings to the poor? Is it because we hear their cries? Communists also hear their cries. They're even willing to die for the motherland. Some of our Christian brother & sisters are now dead, having lived by the sword has now perished by it.

But I say dare: Go to the poor, go to the marginalized in society, firstly and only because God is there! That's why when it is said “Bring glad tidings to the poor,” don't count the number of houses we have built for the poor. Don't count the number of children who went to the feeding program.

Count instead the number of times we have encountered God.

Like Moses' burning bush, when we go to the slum area we should be tempted to take off our shoes because we are treading on holy ground. God is already there, and if we will not find Him, even if we win the Nobel Peace Prize, it is all useless in the sight of God.

We bring glad tidings to the poor because God is among the poor. If you will not find Him there, you are the most to be pitied of all. If you do not find God among the poor, you will not find what you are looking for in serving them. Do not romanticize the poor. They are sinners just like us.

CFC stands for Clowns for Christ! Not just this millennium, but years ago they had long been Clowns for Christ. Just like the kid who, when asked by the teacher what he was drawing, said he was drawing God's face. The nun counters how is that possible when nobody has seen God. The kid says, “They will, once I'm done drawing His face.”

Secondly, we should be aware of our helplessness and inner poverty. There is always the temptation that goes with that one swipe of the Visa card, that our hope lies in our money or our network of powerful friends. We should instead be always conscious of the continual need for our conversion. Even if we've been in the renewal for years, let's not fool ourselves. We need continual conversion. We need to be aware of our own poverty and emptiness, that we too are poor, that we need God - that the ultimate poverty is a Godless heart.

That's why we do not go to the poor to fight ignorance. We do not go to the poor to fight destitution. We go to the poor because we will fight against the sinfulness of our human heart.

Thirdly, confirm by deeds. If you want to bring glad tidings to the poor, then you must prepare yourselves for trials. See, you have just been tested. You have an enemy who will not show mercy. You can't go to the slums, organize a project and not be shot at by the drug pusher. That's what it means. Where it will hurt you the most that's where you'll be hit. That is the payoff.

Prepare your soul for Christ. You want to bring glad tidings to the poor, then you pay the price; you prepare your soul for trials. The evil spirits will not leave you alone. That's why you should feel inadequate though you boldly write “Bring glad tidings to the poor.”

You act like the sons of Zebedee, who asked Jesus seats right close to him in his kingdom. Jesus replied, “Can you drink from the cup that I drunk?” Just like real Clowns for Christ, you answer, “We can!”

But it would be a waste if you are a Clown for Christ and you say instead, “I'm afraid. I cannot.” You wouldn't be a CFC if you said that.

Our measure is Christ unbroken everlasting.

We bring glad tidings to the poor because we are looking for God among the poor; He is among the poor. The poor is the privileged witness of the gospel.

We are fighting not ignorance or homelessness or destitution. We are fighting sin in the business of spiritual warfare.

We have to pay the price. But even then, even if our own spirit is wrecked and broken by the test and difficulties we endure in bringing glad tidings to the poor, even if our own lands are mortgaged off, even if the slum area we go to are flooded with blood (it could even be our blood!), we know that God is here to stay with us. And that is enough for us!
